For anything to generate heat energy is needed and in this case energy is provided by electricity. The electricity provided is sufficient to generate the amount of heat required. There is a whole new set of problem which opens up with the use of electricity. The change between Alternate current and Direct current is not right for these welders and they don’t adapt efficiently. An alternative to this technique has been the use of fuel powered welders. Nowadays TIG Inverter Welders are finding their application into the field. The advantage of using TIG Inverter Welders is that a lot of additional features are offered at low cost compared to the traditional transformer based welders. An increase in the frequency results in the narrowing of the arc cone shape and an increase in the arc force. The arc is stabilized as a result of this, arc wandering is reduced and the directional control on the arc is excellent. Using a higher frequency at points on the lap and t joints where you need a greater puddle at the root is possible through TIG Inverter welders. Through this a good penetration is ensured with a proper control bead which in turn helps in minimizing the etched zone. With a 60 Hz output a wider arc will be obtained which makes welding much more easily and gives the impression of moving from plate to plate naturally. The puddle should start at the ends of the joint and gradually go inwards towards the center. Some critical joints are bound to be over welded to ensure that a proper weld has reached the roots. The current inverter technology focuses on increasing the speed of welding. It is also known as deposition rate. The other purpose is to avoid the transitional globular transfer phase. Currently a lot of work needs be done on this technology because there is no apparent difference between the use of traditional and TIG Inverter Welders. When sufficient amount of work is done the inverter technology is all set to take over the portable TIG inverter technology. |
